SHW Live Manchester 2026: A Fantastic Week for Phoenix Health & Safety

Thank You for Joining us in Manchester
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Phoenix Health & Safety stand at SHW Live Manchester 2026. It was great to meet so many students, partners, and safety professionals throughout the event. The atmosphere was brilliant, and our team had an amazing time speaking with both familiar faces and new connections.
In this blog, we’ll cover everything we got up to and announced at the event, including our brand-new course, Artificial Intelligence – Application in OSH, and new consultancy service – the Risk Ready Review.
A Standout Event for our Team
Conversations alone were not all our team took from the event. We heard from our students directly about their learning experiences- and what experiences they were! From individual students completing NEBOSH qualifications to businesses supported by our services for years, it was glowing comments across the board. We owe it all to the Phoenix team for being able to deliver such a service, and it filled us with pride to hear the positivity at SHW Live 2026.
What’s more, we took advantage of the many amazing talks delivered by safety professionals at the event. It’s always great to meet with fellow businesses and experts, discussing trends, new legislation, and what’s changing for health and safety in 2026. It helps us give our customers the best experience and insight possible into safety training. The range of talks spanned everything from scaffolding to safety legislation, and of course, we delivered one of our own.
Rob Burgon’s NEBOSH Discovery Hub Session: AI in Health and Safety Strategies
Our highlight for the show was the talk delivered by Rob Burgon, our Lead Trainer, who explored how organisations can start implementing AI in Health and Safety strategies responsibly. Rob’s session discussed how AI can:
Enhance decision-making
Support risk assessments
Strengthen the way organisations manage workplace hazards
Harm organisations who adopt it blindly
Be only as beneficial as the user is skilled with the software
It was brilliant to see such a great turnout for the event, and even better to see so many great insights taken from the talk. Plus, of course, a few laughs thanks to Rob’s quick wit.
Artificial Intelligence - Application in OSH Training
If you missed the talk, don’t worry, you can learn how to implement AI into your safety practices with the brand-new Artificial intelligence – Application in OSH course. Verified by NEBOSH and available only with Phoenix, the course designed in-house by our team of health and safety experts. It equips safety professionals with the practical skills needed to integrate AI confidently into their organisation’s safety strategy. You’ll learn real‑world, applicable skills, so you can make informed decisions about AI’s role in your workplace.

Introducing Risk Ready Reviews
SHW Live also marked the official launch of our new Risk Ready Reviews, delivered by Toby Bidwell, our Head of Consultancy. These 1‑to‑1 sessions provide:
An expert assessment of your current health and safety practices
Identification of potential safety gaps
Clear, practical recommendations to stay compliant and avoid penalties
The sessions are complimentary, no commitment required. The Risk Ready Review session will provide an impartial review of your organisation’s safety practices, equipping you with the visibility you need over any gaps that exist, or with the reassurance that you’re doing everything needed to keep staff your workforce- and your organisation’s reputation- safe. Strengthen your approach to risk and compliance with a Risk Ready Review while slots are still available.
Phoenix’s 2026 Health and Safety Compliance Outlook Report
Attendees also got the first opportunity to read Phoenix’s 2026 Health and Safety Workplace Compliance Outlook Report. While most organisations are doing enough to remain compliant with legislation and safety requirements, that compliance is increasingly short of the level of safety required to keep people safe. This is not organisations intentionally doing less, but a struggle to keep up with practices and expectations that are always rising.

Where regulatory expectations are rising in 2026
Where competence is most often assumed rather than evidenced

Looking ahead
SHW Live Manchester 2026 was a brilliant start to the year for Phoenix, and we’re excited to continue supporting organisations as they evolve their health and safety training, adopting new approaches responsibly.
