311 - NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work
This course builds the confidence to recognise, assess, and manage workplace stress with clarity and control. It focuses on real‑world application of the HSE’s Management Standards to reduce risk and improve working conditions.
What is the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work?
The NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Managing Stress at Work is designed to help organisations move beyond awareness and take practical, defensible action on one of the most significant and growing risks facing today’s workforce.
In 2024 to 2025 alone, 964,000 workers were affected by work-related stress, leading to 22.1 million working days lost. This is not a background issue. It is a direct impact on performance, capacity, and organisational resilience.
At the same time, expectations have shifted. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has made it clear that stress must be managed like any other workplace risk, and enforcement action has already been taken where organisations have failed to do so effectively. Awareness is no longer enough. Employers are expected to identify risks, act on them, and show how decisions have been made.
Developed in collaboration with the HSE, this qualification is built around the Management Standards approach. It equips you to identify the causes of work-related stress, assess organisational risk factors, and implement targeted interventions aligned with current expectations.
What this means for your organisation:
Reduced risk of stress and mental health issues
A more open and supportive workplace culture
Greater understanding of workplace stress and procedures to reduce and manage it
Improved audit outcomes
Greater defensibility under investigation
