Thalia- Implementing the IOSH Training Package to raise Safety Awareness

17th April 2024

Thalia Waste Management (Formerly Amey PLC) approached Phoenix in 2022 as they wanted to integrate an IOSH training package into their LMS. IOSH Courses are globally recognised and help organisations to meet their legal health and safety requirements, while keeping employees safe as they work.

The Challenge

Thalia required us to embed a recognised Health & Safety course into their “new starter learning kit”. For the implementation our team needed to develop a comprehensive understanding of the organisation’s existing training procedure and where they may need additional safety training.

Brand the course to Thalia Waste Management: Branding our courses for each client helps them fit seamlessly into each organisation’s LMS and Training Schemes.

Create bespoke administrative procedures alongside Phoenix to ensure data was captured correctly: The data capture allows organisation’s to track their employees progress and see who has completed the training, helping them to raise safety awareness across the organisation.

Programme Solution

Phoenix’s in-house course development team, operations and account management team worked together to bring this project together.

  • We took the IOSH Working Safely course and fully branded it according to Thalia’s guidelines. This included several review calls to ensure the content was up to their standards and met their needs. We always go the extra mile to make sure our courses meet the visions of our clients.

  • We then looked at some bespoke administration procedures which included creating a Phoenix e-mail domain for Thalia so they could e-mail their learner's results directly to us.

  • The development team also worked with Thalia directly to ensure the SCORM file was integrated correctly and helped the client to pull the learner data through in a way that would reduce administration time.

Impact

  • Client purchased 350 user licenses at a discounted rate for IOSH courses.

  • After the course was implemented into their new starter training package, they have begun relaying learner results to Phoenix. To date, Thalia has 287 licenses left.

  • Since the initial spend in 2022, Thalia has also purchased in-house and E-Learning IOSH Managing Safely courses. With a potential view, to one day embed the course similarly to the Working Safely piece.
