Amazon- Health & Safety Training Package needed for Bespoke Projects
Amazon approached Phoenix for their expertise in designing three projects to cater to multiple levels of their organisation. This included Amazon's Construction division based in Luxembourg, part of Amazon's Global Operations team, which manages a wide range of construction projects, from new site builds, extensions, and refurbishments. These three projects included- delivering IOSH Leading Safely to Senior Leaders around the globe, a customised version of IOSH Managing Safely to be delivered to over 300 users per year, and an e-Learning package designed for Amazon’s internal report system.
The Challenge
Phoenix was asked to deliver IOSH Leading Safely to senior leaders within Amazon from around the globe, with a tight 2-week deadline. Having all leaders involved means knowledge will be standardised across the business, with each leader having the safety awareness to consider moral and legal responsibility when decision-making.
The bespoke IOSH Managing Safely course needed to be tailored to suit Amazon’s own policies and case studies, so that all the skills and knowledge provided could be applied directly within the organisation. IOSH Managing Safely comprehensively covers the health and safety risk assessment process, giving Amazon’s managers the key tool needed to readily assess and evaluate safety risks in the workplace.
Finally, there was the need for a new e-Learning Module. This was envisioned as a snappy, creative and interactive course reflecting Amazon's health and safety vision over 5-weeks with weekly reviews. By creating a unique e-Learning module to suit the company’s needs, it allows Amazon to get training to team members wherever they are, making the process easier and more accessible for everyone involved.
Programme Solution
Phoenix's collaborative approach involved its in-house course development team, qualified tutors, and account managers, all working in tandem to bring these projects together.
Leading Safely: The training was to be delivered virtually and facilitated by Phoenix's expert tutors, who discussed all content and engagement of the bespoke elements with Amazon.
IOSH Managing Safely: This bespoke course was to be designed by Phoenix's development team with weekly review meetings to ensure adherence to strict timelines, precise scopes, and collaboration between development teams, tutors, and course designers.
Brand new e-Learning Module: The last element of the project required direct collaboration between the course designer and the client to create an engaging course with virtual calls and timely draft submissions.
