Help for NCRQ students
Since NCRQ stopped delivering qualifications in October 2022, we have been working through the different study options that we can make available for stranded NCRQ students.
The help that we can offer falls into two main areas:
Assistance in choosing between a NEBOSH Certificate, Diploma or NVQ Level 6
One-to-one support for NCRQ students migrating to a new product
Let’s look at these areas in more detail:
1) Choosing Between a NEBOSH Certificate, Diploma or NVQ Level 6
We have an extensive blog post that describes the main differences between the NEBOSH Diploma and Level 6 NVQ Diploma.
We will also be running a free webinar, where our support team will answer questions about the different qualifications and how they differ from NCRQ, as well as how the NEBOSH Diploma mapping could reduce the number of units you need to study. Please see below for how to sign up to the webinar.
The main difference is that the NEBOSH Diploma follows an academic learning style with Open Book Exams (these are digital assessments that can be done from home) at the end of each unit, whereas the NVQ6 is a practical, work-based qualification which is assessed on a portfolio basis.
NCRQ students who are at the beginning of their studies may prefer to start with the NEBOSH General Certificate, which is a Level 3 qualification and recommended before starting the NEBOSH Diploma.
2) One-to-one support for NCRQ students migrating to a new product
To ease the transition to your new study method, former NCRQ tutor Chris Smith will be here to answer your questions as the newest member of our Study Support Team.
Chris, in conjunction with our NEBOSH and NVQ trainers and assessors, will be hosting a series of webinars to ensure you have access to all the information you need before embarking on a new course.
All Phoenix students will receive ongoing support on a one-on-one basis should they request it.
What’s Should I do now?
If you’ve ready to begin studying the NEBOSH General Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma, please contact us and request a booking form. We’ll need you to return this along with a screenshot of your NCRQ registration form.
If you’re interested in studying the Level 6 NVQ Diploma, please contact us and request an applications form. Once you've completed these our NVQ assessor will review them and make sure that the NVQ route is right for you.
Although our Webinar for NCRQ students has already taken place, you can still contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions. We’ll be happy to help.
